Faith Fortress Establishes Orphanage in Nagaland

Although Faith Fortress was originally established as an apologetics training ministry, about a year and a half ago after a ministry trip to the Nagalands of Northeast India, the Lord made it crystal clear to our board of directors that he would have us begin supporting orphans in the communities of the Naga people. To start, we simply identified a handful of orphans who were being fostered by extended family and began sending enough money each month to cover these children’s basic living expenses as well as their school tuition, uniforms, and transportation costs associated with travelling back and forth to class.

Due to several factors it began to be clear to the board that in order to adequately protect, nurture and educate these kids in the Christian faith, it would be necessary to bring them all in under one roof. So, a few months back a building was obtained and the doors of Faith Fortress Children’s Home were opened for the first time. Even though there are only six children living in the orphanage at this time, we are already experiencing God’s richest blessings as we see these once at-risk children bloom in the light of Jesus’ love.

Already the kids are bonding and the older ones are taking the younger ones under their wings. In true Naga style the children’s days are tightly scheduled to include school, hygiene, meals, homework, chores, and free time. Thank you to all Faith Fortress supporters who have helped us to share the nurturing love of Christ with these precious children.
